Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays!

Tis the season for celebration. The last 3 months of the year into the first of the new year provide us with many things to celebrate. Whether religious or secular these special days give us reason to eat, drink, and be merry.  While this sounds like a grand time for some it can be challenging. So how do we begin to put the HAPPY back in Happy Holidays?

Yes, happy is a choice, a feeling that comes from within, but when our insides are sad, happy feels far away. It doesn’t have to be that way. Rather than focus on all the things you don’t have or how things aren’t the way you want them, focus on the good that is happening in your life. Where can you find joy – the laugh of a little person, a dog chasing its tail, being with a good friend. It’s in the small things that the biggest impacts can be felt. The things we choose to think and dwell on become the big things and are often not our true focus.

Let’s be honest, the last couple of years have taken a toll on all of us. The things we once thought were solid have become shaky. People we depend on have transition in one form or another. Nothing is the same and navigating those feelings during “the most wonderful time of the year” can feel anything but wonderful.

This season I want to encourage you to look for ways to smile anew. Maybe the old things that used to make you happy no longer serve you. That’s okay. Maybe it’s time to take up a new hobby, call an old friend, or just become closer to you. This season you can decide where to focus your energy and attention in ways that renew your happy.

If you are ready to dive deeper or continue this conversation, send me an email and let’s work together.

Until next time,

Here’s to becoming Healthy, Happy, Whole
